The IT problems professional services businesses keep putting off

Every hour of downtime is a billable hour lost

When your systems go down, your team stops. For professional services businesses, time is the product - and unplanned downtime converts directly into lost revenue, missed deadlines, and frustrated clients. Proactive IT means problems are caught before they reach your staff.

Client data carries real legal obligations

Accountants, consultants, and engineers hold commercially sensitive client information. Under the NZ Privacy Act, you are legally required to protect it. A breach doesn't just expose your clients - it exposes your firm to reputational damage and regulatory consequences that can take years to recover from.

Your current provider promised a lot and delivers very little

Large IT providers win clients with sales teams and lose them with ticket queues. If you're waiting days for support, getting passed between people who don't know your setup, or receiving invoices that don't match what was agreed - you're not alone. That's one of the most common reasons businesses come to us.

IT that hasn't kept up with your growth

A setup that worked for five people often quietly breaks under fifteen. Devices, licences, access controls, and security gaps accumulate. Most businesses don't discover how exposed they are until something goes wrong. An IT audit often surfaces problems that have been invisible for years.

The firms that win client trust are the ones that can prove they deserve it.

Clients are increasingly asking professional services businesses about how their information is protected - before they sign. Being able to demonstrate a verified security posture isn't just good practice. It's a competitive differentiator. ITstuffed holds SMB1001 Gold certification, and we can help you work toward the same standard.

Documentation, policies, and third-party verification - the things that turn ‘we take security seriously’ into something you can actually show a client.

Why ITstuffed

We hold ourselves to the same standard we ask of you

Professional services firms are built on precision, accountability, and the trust of the people they serve. We understand that - because it describes how we operate too. Our engineers came from healthcare environments where the margin for error was zero. That background shaped a culture of doing things properly: proactive monitoring, documented systems, honest advice, and no tolerance for “good enough.” We're not a call centre. We're a small team that knows your setup and picks up the phone.

Daniel (Managing Director) is a formally qualified IT engineer who also worked as a registered nurse and paramedic. He founded ITstuffed with a single standard: IT that never lets people down.

David (Engineer) spent nearly 20 years maintaining complex medical systems at major NZ hospitals, including Christchurch Hospital. When precision matters, experience shows. Clients request him by name.

John (Engineer) has 20 years of IT experience including hands-on roles at one of Europe's largest hospitals, and remains an active volunteer with St John's Major Incident Support Team.

ITstuffed holds SMB1001 Gold certification - a recognised cyber security framework that aligns directly with what NZ cyber insurers now require businesses to demonstrate. For professional services businesses handling sensitive client data, this is the standard we hold ourselves to.

What we cover

Managed IT for businesses where reputation is everything

Proactive monitoring and support

We watch your systems around the clock and fix issues before they reach your team. When something does go wrong, you reach a real engineer fast - not a ticket queue staffed by someone who has never seen your setup.

Multi-layered cybersecurity

Email filtering, endpoint protection, DNS filtering, identity monitoring, staff awareness training, and privileged access controls - all working together. No single control is enough. We build the full stack.

IT that's properly documented

One of the most common things we find when taking over from a large provider is inaccurate or incomplete documentation. We build a clear, accurate picture of your environment from day one - so nothing falls through the cracks.

Fixed monthly pricing

One predictable monthly cost covering your whole team. No surprise invoices, no per-call charges, no bill that grows every time someone asks for help.

What Our Clients Say

4.8/5based on 84 Google reviewsSee all reviews
IT Stuffed ran a full systems cyber security audit for us, which was very eye-opening! They helped us implement the necessary changes and gave us some strategic advice on future steps. Daniel and the team are incredibly dedicated, great communicators and a real pleasure to deal with.

Our organisation engaged IT Stuffed a bit over a year ago and we have been very happy with their services to date. We value them being a local small business and appreciate their friendly yet professional interactions. They do not fluster easily and that has a calming effect on people with IT challenges. When faced with a cyber-attack a year ago we greatly appreciated the immediate and ongoing support we received from IT Stuffed. Happy to recommend this service.

Case Study

“They were promised a level of service they never received. The gaps we found told the full story.”

A 30-person Christchurch professional services firm was with one of NZ's largest IT providers. No MFA, no security awareness training, an outdated firewall, and documentation from the previous provider that turned out to be inaccurate.

“A large provider and a small provider are not the same thing. Size brings sales teams. It doesn't always bring service.”

Common questions

Things professional services businesses usually ask us

We're already with an IT provider. Is it worth having a conversation?

Yes - and we'll be honest with you if the answer is no. A 15-minute IT Fit Check isn't a sales pitch. It's a genuine conversation about your current setup, where the gaps are, and whether we're the right fit. If your current provider is doing a good job, we'll tell you. If there are things worth addressing, we'll tell you that too. No obligation either way.

What does a proper IT audit actually involve?

We start by documenting your environment accurately - devices, licences, user access, security controls, backup status, and software. Most firms are surprised by what an audit surfaces: licences being paid for that aren't in use, gaps in security controls that weren't visible, documentation from a previous provider that turned out to be inaccurate. The audit gives you a clear, honest picture of where you actually stand. From there, we build a staged plan to address what matters most first.

What does the NZ Privacy Act require our firm to do?

Under the Privacy Act 2020, any organisation holding personal information - which includes commercially sensitive client data - must take reasonable steps to protect it. If a breach occurs and is likely to cause serious harm, you are legally required to notify the Privacy Commissioner and the affected individuals. For professional services businesses, 'reasonable steps' is interpreted in the context of the sensitivity of what you hold and the resources available to you. Getting your IT security right is not just a technical matter - it is a professional liability matter.

How do you handle onboarding without disrupting our team?

We manage the entire process. All we need from you at the start is an introduction to your current provider. We handle documentation, tool deployment, and configuration in the background. Once your setup is complete, getting a new staff member introduced to their device takes around 15 minutes. No downtime is expected. Your team keeps working throughout.

How quickly do you respond when something goes wrong?

We have formal SLAs in place for all managed services clients. Every support request is logged, triaged on receipt, and assigned a priority. Response times are guaranteed based on that priority: Critical (systems down, active security incident) 1 hour; High (significant impact on operations) 2 hours; Normal (single user affected, workaround available) 4 hours; Low (general queries, minor issues) 8 hours. In practice, most urgent calls are picked up within 15 minutes. Critical issues are not sitting in a queue. They are flagged immediately and handled first. You will always know the status of your request.

IT that matches the standard your clients expect from you.

Book a free 15-minute IT Fit Check. We'll review your current setup, identify any gaps, and give you an honest answer about whether we're the right fit for your firm. No hard sell. No jargon. Just a straight conversation about what good IT looks like for a business like yours.

No obligation. No lock-in. We work with independent businesses of 5-50 staff across Christchurch and wider NZ.
